Lion and dragon dancing

We were invited to participate in an ancient tradition of the lion and dragon dances. At first we walk into a huge gymnasium, while the performers were waiting. First they showed their impressive skill of their dance while we watched. After that, it was our turn. We started with a hefty stretch to warm up and get our bodies going. Then we got in our group and they explained how we were going to do it. We jumped in and tried our turn at it. Let me tell you, it looks a lot easier than it is. Unfortunately, I didn't feel the best during this activity, so I say out for a little bit. I tried my turn at the lion heads, and I thought I was pretty good for a beginner. Actually, it was a lot of fun. I was a little bummed that I wasn't feeling the best, because I would have enjoyed this much more. Overall, it was exciting to see a performance like this up close, and even more exciting when we get our own chance at trying it. Even though I'm not much of a dancer, I can honestly say it was worth the experience. Chad Schrandt
