Took my mind off school with some wrestling and a Subway brand sandwich. I was gonna go try out the $4 Torpedo Quizno's has now and may still try it one of these days, but I was skeptical of a sandwich being over a foot long and costing so little, so some brief review research revealed it is the least filling sandwich ever. But my appetite has decreased in recent years, so hey, maybe it would be for the best.

I'm feeling kinda weird and tired, but I have a little homework I should do, and will do, eventually. Just gotta find a couple articles about children being forced to work by their parents instead of attend school for Spirituality class (gotta do a group presentation about the topic in a few weeks) and then just make up a short presentation about technological limitations for businesses for Management. Not too concerned but very, very unmotivated. I just want to go to sleep.

Complete waste of a day.

I don't get bored easy. I seem to always have a dozen things I could be doing to entertain myself.

Today is not one of those days.

I slept pretty bad last night. Barely became conscious when my alarm went off, got ready for the day, stepped outside and immediately almost broke my neck. It was then I became aware of the freezing rain. I decided it was in my best interest to not attend school today as I couldn't even make it to my car, let alone how well my car with no ABS and 2 wheel drive would handle it. Its traction in the past has been called into question.

So I went back to bed and took some strange sort of pseudo nap where I was conscious for a majority of it but far too tired to move, and I felt perfectly content curled up in my warm bed half awake. I must have fallen asleep for some period of time though cause it didn't feel like the 5 hours I ended up laying in bed for. Pretty sweet.

Now what? Well, in hindsight, I feel pretty stupid for not going to class even if I needed the rest. I'm sure if I had been more awake I would have tried a little harder to make it to my car and it wouldn't have been that bad. But nope! Now I missed a bunch of classes and I hate missing class. What a hassle.

Anyway, like I was saying, I'm awake, I immediately got bored of the internet (which seriously never happens) and now I just kind of want to sleep till tomorrow. Sigh.

The harder they come, the harder they fall, one and all.

How was everyone's Spring Break? Hopefully pleasant. Time for real life again though.

I had a pretty dandy Spring Break. I didn't do anything too special but I did spend a few days in the cities with some old friends. We pretty much just hung out in the apartment and ate out 3 meals a day, but it was great to hang out with them again like we did in the old days.

While there I went to Watchmen, and I thought the movie was fantastic. Course I'm a big fan of the graphic novel so that is to be expected, although a lot of people really didn't seem to care for it. My friends for instance were pretty ambivalent towards it and didn't find it anything special. My friends are negative nancies though sometimes so I didn't pay much heed to that. I thought it was awesome.

Tuesday I made the trip home through that crazy snow storm, which wasn't very fun to deal with. I spent the rest of the break there and enjoyed the company of my friends and girlfriend. I also finally got to see the Wrestler which was just as good as had been hyped up to me, which is saying something. I thought it was awesome as well, though this time the friends I went with flat out hated it for some reason. Go figure. There is no accounting for taste I suppose.

But I'm back, I guess. Right now I just want to go back to bed. My first class was cancelled, as I had totally forgotten, so I've just been sitting here for an hour cursing myself for forgetting Tom told us that before break. A whole hour of sleep, lost forever to the sands of time.

On the way to school I almost got in a crazy accident. I made that old person mistake of accidentally stomping on the gas instead of the breaks and nearly flew out into an intersection I had no business in, but luckily had the wherewithal to slam on the brakes as quickly as possible. I got a dirty look from the intersecting motorist and that was the end of that thankfully. Be careful out there guys, there are a lot of dopes like me on the streets.

Welp time for my next class. I wish it was "Nap" class. I would totally have an A in that one.

Schooooollsss out, for, a week!

Hey hey hey.

So spring break is next week and I'm pretty happy about that. I am going down to the cities as soon as I get out of class on Friday and heading to the cities to hang out with some old friends, and it is gonna be awesome. I'm not sure what all we will do, but we are definitely going to see Watchmen on IMAX and also go check out The Wrestler. I am excited for both these and more.

Then on Tuesday I am going to make the 6 hour drive to my hometown and hang out with my girlfriend and family. Awesome awesome. I want to leave right now.

But anyway, man, it's cliche but I swear that every semester goes by quicker than the last. How are we halfway through this semester already? My classes still feel new. Where did the last 7 weeks go? It's crazy. I am gonna be done with school in just 2 more months and I can't believe it. I still need to do my internship, but I will have all my classes for my degree done and it's surreal. I feel like college has just been blur. Wow.

I finally finished my programming project yesterday, late, but it got done, or as done as was eligible to turn in. I am not completely happy with the turn out but it will just have to do. I will get a passing grade, and that's all that matters to me at this point.

I got a bunch of homework to get done before spring break. Gotta do an assignment for Stylistic and also get my management online assignment done. Fun fun.

Been still playing San Andreas. Man these graphics are terrible, even for their time. Oh well, it's fun, if a little maddening at times. Nothing makes one angrier than playing a long mission and then just before making it to the end your car catches on fire and the guy you have to keep alive refuses to not get blown up.

Alright, I'm off to get stuff done and begin my break. Keep R real.

No no no no no no no.

I'm feeling kind of disenfranchised and melancholy at the moment. And not just because I have a big programming project to get done and quick. I feel very unmotivated to work on it tonight though and I am not fully sure why. For one, I just feel kind of run down. I also am basically already checked out for Spring Break, a time over which I plan to spend at least partially in the cities with some old friends. Gah.

I'm stressing about that though because my friends really want me to come down but money is a problem. Ugh, money. Don't even make me think about my financial obligations right now.

But I think what has me down most of all is I just finished reading "Watchmen" and what a depressing read that turned out to be. Won't spoil it but the end was a pretty big buzzkill and almost made you wonder what the point to it all was. Still a fascinating read, and if you aren't melodramatic like myself, you'll like it too.

I read it in anticipation for the movie this weekend, kinda like everybody else. I don't usually buy into trends but I have been hearing rave reviews for quite some time so I didn't want to miss out.

I also picked up the new Tenacious D complete masterworks and am eagerly looking forward to watching it when I have a few hours to kill. I'd watch it tonight but, well, I flat out shouldn't. Got the new Mars Volta album too, I'll probably listen to it on Friday.

Had a test in Linux today and got 79%. Can't say I'm happy with it but that's the grade I earned. You get out what you put in, they always say.

I'm tired though so I am gonna go lay down, will be back later with more exciting updates!

Money, Money, Yeah Yeah.

What have I been thinking?

I have a java ME program due by morning that I haven't started yet. It is 9:44 at night. Ugh ugh ugh. It is going to be a late night.

So for Lent (I'm not catholic) I've decided to try and better myself by giving up eating out. This is probably one of my greatest vices and it's both a detriment to my health (there isn't much health to dollar menus) and a wallet lightener. I have enough food to easily last and yet, Subway is always calling my name. Let's see if I can last Lent without that stuff! I will attempt to document my cold turkey attempt and the withdrawals I go through here.

On Community Day I went and took the college assessment test so as to get my graduation fee off and free cap and gown. Seemed like a fair deal for a little bit of my time. It was kinda weird, I had to put forth logical arguments for and against things regarding this fictional rec center and it's programs using a bunch of documentation they provided. I think I did OK? A couple people left minutes into it and in my peripheral vision other people's screens looked a lot different, so who knows what other people had to do. So we will see what my results say or whatev. Who knows?

Welp, gotta start this program now. Sigh... Talk to you later.

I want a love like Johnny and June

Blah, I'm sick.

I hate being sick. It just ruins every day. I am getting better already but it got pretty bad Friday night. I had a cough that felt like it dislodged gunk in my throat, and then hurt my chest and throat. Kinda weird.

Now lately I've just been dealing with headaches that come and go and not enjoying it. But I've been drinking my EmergenC so hopefully that is doing the trick.

Other than that I'm pretty upset because I was all set to beat God of War 2 last night but something is wrong with my friend's copy of the game and/or my PS2 and there was a certain point where there was nothing I could do but walk through a glowing doorway and watch the game glitch out and break. UGH.

So I started a new save on Grand Theft Auto San Andreas cause I always liked the game but never played it from start to finish. Is fun.

I also rented Lakeview Terrace yesterday cause I had nothing but time on my hands and I had wanted to see it in theaters but missed out. It was actually a pretty good flick, although I didn't quite get if we were supposed to feel sympathy for Sam Jackson's character since (spoiler) he gets shot up in a very gruesome death. I dunno though, it was still a real fun movie. I need to rent movies more often. I often go to the video store and psyche myself out of renting a movie because I'm not sure it's worth the time investment and/or I want to wait to see it with a friend or someone. Anyway.

School is school, and I have a java project due Friday that I am totally stressing over because I have no idea what to do. Tonight I am gonna try to get started at least and try to get the basics down for what I may do. Ugh.

Been a pretty average week here in Duluth, nothing too notable!

My breathing problem is... improving I think? I can never tell with these weird things I get. It started with me realizing I wasn't inhaling till I forced myself to, then for a week it leveled out as just having to breath weird, and now that barely happens but I have those moments where something doesn't feel right during an exhale or something and then when I inhale it's a little harder until I do this weird snoring thing in the back of my throat. I am so confused.

Chest pain still comes every day. What can you do, at least it's only for a couple seconds and not like, all day.

Alright! So, I have to do a Java project for Wireless Programming by next Friday and I am pretty concerned. I have no clue what I should do, and don't know where I should start. The good news though is I finally got Netbean with mobility applications installed. I had the hardest time figuring it out the other night because the JDK refused to install despite numerous download attempts. Finally I did it but I didn't get why it worked. I just downloaded the JDK from Netbean's own site instead of Sun Microsystems and it worked like nothing should have ever gone wrong. Weird. So at least I can work on it from home and not have to go to the school. I might anyway, I can never focus here.

All my other classes are still... ok. Blah I am just so unmotivated this semester it's not even funny. It doesn't even feel like this is my last semester of school, I mean, ever. It's so strange that it hasn't even begun to register yet. I just know that going to class and doing a homework is a bigger pain than ever before and I just want that to end. Maybe I'll change my tune in May. Doubt it.

Been playing God of War 2 finally. I tried it when it first came out but wasn't able to finish it in one rental, but my housemate owns it and since I never play World of Warcraft anymore my video game time has finally afforded it. I still haven't made it as far as I was before but I'm looking forward to it cause I'm bored doing the same frustrating puzzles I've already done before. I rarely enjoy replaying games. The only examples are like, Starfox 64, or Mario RPG, or Final Fantasy 7.

Well I better stop before I turn this into a vintage video game blog. Later!

I had a very happy Valentine's day and I hope you all did too. I'm glad I didn't have to spend it alone and had a girlfriend for it, again, against all odds. I'm not gonna question it and just be happy about it. We didn't go all out or anything, just had a gift exchange (iTunes gift card! Yes! as well as a Johnny Cash album and awesome chocolate!), went out to eat on a double date with a couple entertaining friends, and watched movies together. I couldn't ask for more.

I've successfully avoided doing anything constructive for a week and a half, but my luck runs out tomorrow night when I do an essay for Spirituality and some other stuff to get back up to date. Not very smart of me but oh well, my primary concern has been "Am I dying?" and not "hmm i should probably read this chapter".

I'm getting more serious about my diet with every passing day. So I'm happy with that. I am now restricted to Subway when eating out and no longer go hunting in the frozen food aisle at the grocery store for pizza and tv dinner related products. Woo. Small victories are victories.
