We finished up our trip in Galway with another delicious breakfast at the Glencree B&B. This time, we had French toast with fresh fruit, coffee, and orange juice! After saying our goodbyes, we boarded the bus again. We wound our way upwards along the northern shore of Galway Bay, where Eoin stopped for many photo opportunities on the beaches and lowlands. As we headed into the mountains, we stopped at a river where Eoin and his giggle threw rocks and attempted to splash the boys! It was hilarious!
Our final destination of the weekend was the village of Cong, the town where the film, "The Quiet Man," was shot. We found the bar, Pat Cohan, where many of the scenes took place! John Wayne was here once upon a time! The main focus of the town was the Ashford Castle, a gigantic architectural feat that currently functions as a five-star hotel! We reached the castle by way of a leisurely walk thru the woods along a river. The view from the front of the castle is breathtaking; a mirror-like lake sided by a falcon training school, stables, and gardens! We didn't have time to get to these side places, however, but we were able to see the castle and lake!
